Road to Logistics is a national training programme to encourage new talent into the transport and logistics industry from sections of society where individuals need help and support to regain self confidence and independence.
The programme will enable companies to reduce the cost of recruiting new talent into their organisations and in turn will help address the increasing skills shortage.
Road to Logistics was founded through a close collaboration between Bob Harbey, Executive Director of Microlise, and Richard Burnett, Chief Executive of the Road Haulage Association.
- Road to Logistics concept developed by Bob Harbey and Richard Burnett in late 2015/early 2016
- Road to Logistics launched at the Microlise Transport Conference, in May 2016
- First graduate joins Brit European Transport in late 2016 and subsequently qualifies as an HGV driver
